Read this first — non-negotiable clauses
These provisions apply to every use of Complisto and override any conflicting language elsewhere on the site.
- Informational service, not legal advice. Complisto provides general regulatory information sourced from public agencies. Rules marked beta are automatically extracted from public sources and pending human verification — always confirm with the referenced agency before filing, paying, or acting on any finding.
- No warranty of completeness or currency. Hanov Consulting does not warrant the completeness or currency of the regulations shown. Regulations change; verify at the linked primary source.
- Google OAuth consent. By signing in with Google, you consent to Complisto receiving your email, name, and profile picture per Google's OAuth 2.0 authorization flow. See our Privacy Policy for handling details.
- No attorney-client relationship. Nothing on Complisto — including chat, email, or automated outputs — creates an attorney-client relationship between you and Hanov Consulting or its personnel.
- Liability cap. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hanov Consulting's total aggregate liability arising out of or related to Complisto shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
Scope of the service
Complisto helps small business owners discover which federal, state, county, and city rules may apply to a business at a given address, and points to the primary source for each rule. It is a screening and information tool. Nothing on Complisto files, pays, or represents you before any agency.
Your account and content
You are responsible for the information you enter about your business — including its name, address, and any answers you record about permits you already hold. Do not enter information you are not authorized to share. Hanov Consulting stores this information per the Privacy Policy and uses it only to generate your compliance map, provide the service, and improve accuracy.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to interfere with the service, scrape it at volume, misrepresent your identity, or use it to violate any law. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or that we believe in good faith are being used unlawfully.
Changes to these terms
Hanov Consulting may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in-product or by email to your account address at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Hanov Consulting is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be brought in that jurisdiction. Nothing here waives rights you may have under applicable consumer protection or data protection law.
